Peace PathOn Sunday, September 11, 2005, at the mother house on Charles Street, NDP students and teachers joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame to participate in the Women in Black-sponsored Peace Path. Women in Black is “not an organization, but an international peace network” that was formed in Israel in 1988. The network was founded by women who protested the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, as well as the violence against Palestinians. The women that are part of Women in Black wear the color black to symbolize mourning. Women in Black has branched to countries all over the world, including the United States.
